TEARS

As humans we can produce tears
Tears of joy
Or those of sorrow
Such emotions
We show
Unlike any other of God’s species
We are able to shed tears of
Joy and sorrow
Such an expanse
These two emotions
One for elation
The other for heartache
Two opposites
Yet the same tears
God given reaction
To how we feel
How can we produce
Such tears when our heart aches
Or have such joy
That only tears can
Show just how elated we are
We are indeed
A people created
In His image
We are
For He shed tears of sorrow
And no doubt
Sheds tears of joy
Over us
